The thought of Wi-Fi locators built into laptops always beat us as a somewhat Catch-22 solution: You have to drag out the computer, stay for it to boot up, and say a Hail Mary or two before judgment out if you’re even distantly near a hot spot. That’s why we appreciate something as disarmingly logical as a locator technology that’s entrenched in a straight line into the laptop bag.
In spite of its ill at ease name, the “Wiffinder” series from Spain-based Soyntec would appear to make a lot of sense, hire you hunt for a wireless connection “SideShow”-style without a divide device or even the require to open the bag. And they don’t even look half-bad, which is more than we can say for others we’ve seen lately.
